Maryland Independent Jewelry Appraiser Invited to Join Worldwide Elite Organization

Churchville, MD – Local popular jewelry appraiser, Vincent Lash—Graduate Gemologist (GIA) since 1982 and Senior Member of the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers—has been honored as the 24th member of the worldwide elite Association of Independent Jewellery Valuers (AIJV) based in Scotland.  Independent jewelry appraisers have a fiduciary responsibility to their clients—with no buying, selling, or brokering motives behind their appraisals.

Invitation to international membership in the Association of Independent Jewellery Valuers demonstrates a valuer’s record, reputation, and willingness to comply with the strict AIJV Code of Ethics.  This code assures that the appraiser (known internationally as a “valuer”) is beyond reproach in standards of integrity, conduct, experience, professionalism, equipment, and of course, independence when appraising jewelry (spelled “jewellry” in Scotland).

Most jewelry appraisers are not independent in that they sometimes buy, sell, or broker what they appraise—be it jewelry, loose stones, or precious metals.

AIJV promotes the benefits of using a truly independent valuer to the public, retail jewelers, and the insurance industry. The organization educates these constituencies on the value of using the services of an appraiser who places independence and objectivity above profit.

With over three decades of jewelry, silver, and clock appraising experience, Vincent Lash & Co. is one of the most trusted and busiest appraisers in Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, and Pennsylvania. He has advised more than 14,000 people and appraised in excess of 70,000 items in the past decade alone.
